Okay, I'm sure your all wondering why I would ask such a stupid question. Well I'm about to tell you. First let me start from the begining.
I've been to a good many RPG sites like my own. The first one I joined was a great deal like my own, Balanced Dreams. I stayed at that one for a while then decided it was time to move on because I was normally the only one online and I'd gained some experiance. The next site I signed up to was a lot different. It had strict rules that had to be followed or you were kicked off. BUT it was more of an acutal RPG site. That was when I started up Balanced Dreams. Ever since then, I began wondering wither or not having a rule bound site was a better idea then a relaxed rules ones. Thats where you, my lovely members, come in.
Part of my reasoning for this is, I've noticed the rule bound sites tend to get a great deal more members. Now there a few more things I could do possible to get us a great deal more memebers but thats another time and another poll. My question to you guys is, which is better? A rule bound strict site where experince RPG is easily gotten, or a relaxed site where things aren't take as seriously but you still have a great deal of fun?

I really don't know, I think strict rules would just be bad for your creativity, I know that if I had to worry that much about what I couldn't put in a roleplay or one of my fan fics I'd get all stressed and probably drop the whole site. The rules you have now work fine, nothing overly profane or violent, it works just fine for me.

There's really no explination why stricter sites get more people, other than the lax sites are lax on EVERYTHING, and tend to advertise less o.0
I personally like less rules ^^;

A few basic rules, like "don't be rude" or "please try to stay on-topic" are good, so people know they can't go around doing whatever they please, but nothing too strict. I mean, sure, rules are good when they stop people from spamming with stupid, off-topic things, but there should be freedom of opinion. (I was a part of a forum where every even slightly negative opinion was attacked by 10 moderators and 5 admins, after which you would be pretty much banned from the topic you posted on. Not cool.)
Lot of things depend very much on the users' own judgement though, but I think that standard etiquette of the "real" world should apply in forums as well: Politeness and use of common sense. Don't go forcing your opinions on others, but discuss things civilly. You know? ^^;
