Sitting down softly on the bank of the river, Ruri closed her eyes. Just listening as the music seemed to be carried on the wind. It was quite possibly some of the most perfect music she'd ever heard in the longest time. Something, though, just something seemed to be familer. Putting that out of her mind for a bit, she contined to listening with out thought.

Slowly the flute fell away from her lips, and eye opened, revealing dancing green orbs beneath.
Slowly the woman spoke, in a voice almost as heavenly as her music. "It seems, I have company."

"Hello, the trees like your music and so do I." Sonea smiled from her tree nook. "My name is Sonea."

Standing and bowing quickly, Ruri smiled. "I'm Ruri. That was an amazing song! Both of them were. Where'd did you learn to play like that? "She asked almost bubbling over with questions.

The woman smiled calmly. "My name is Machiko, I learned to play from the earth."

"H-how did the earth teach you?" Ruri asked stupidly. Normally she wouldn't ask such childish questions but.....something about Machiko made her seem like...a little child all over again.

((Okay, well I guess I'm going to quit this role-play since I'm totally lost about where my OC is.))

"The earth teaches you if you listen to it." Sonea said matter of factly reciting one of the lessons her father had drummed into it. "By listening you can come to understand anything. Or at least that's what my father always told me. Was he right?" She directed her last question to Machiko.

"Mother Earth can only tell you so much. For speed and stealth, you must go to the wind, for control and humbleness you must go to the water, and for knowledge you must risk your life in fire. The Earth teaches arts."

Smiling, Katsumiyo couldn't help but be reminded of one of her old shamisen instructors. The shamisen had always been a bit of a challenge to play to her, but the way that Tanka had described the way to play was so poetic and touching, she could nearly feel the pulse of the earth around her. It must be the same to Machiko and Sonea.
Shaking her head, Katsumiyo stood up next to Ruri and smiled over at the green haired woman and the girl named Sonea.
"Sorry, I'm a little late in my introduction," She laughed softly to herself, gently dusting off her backside of the small bit of dirt her kimono had picked up. "My name is Kingyousou Katsumiyo. It's truly great to meet you two."

"It's nice tomeet you Katsumiyo. In case you hadn't heard, I'm Sonea, Machiko is the talented flutist on the rock in the river, and this other girl isRuri."

"Ruri I've met." Katsumiyo smiled, nodding at the girl. Looking over to Machiko, she bowed. It had become a bit of a habit. "Your music is very beautiful. I don't think I've heard anything like it before."

Machiko smiled and lifted Katsumiyo's face, looking into her eyes. Then she let go, still smiling. "You have a lot of potential." she said simply.

"I have. Once, or twice. In a dream." Ruri said to herself softly. Suddenly, she looked up quickly, as if a light blub were trying to turn on. "You said the earth taught you play now?" she asked pausing a moment, "Where'd you get the flute then? Did that earth make it for you?" Smiling, she knew the questions sounded stupid. Ruri normally said stupid things, but it didn't stop her much.
