Zuko's Prisoner, or is it?

It all started with a boomerang

“I already told you Aang. I’m going to find Sokka’s boomerang.” Katara said. Though Aang wasn’t listening, he was chasing Momo, who was chasing a flying bug of some sort.

“Are you listening to me?! Aang!”

“Oh, what? Yea, you go into the woods to find Sokka’s boomerang. What next?”

“You have to stay here to make sure Sokka doesn’t go into the woods looking for me, Aang are you even listening?” ‘Oh, forget it, I won’t be long.’ Not before long, she found the boomerang. But as she was about to turn around and go back to the campsite, she heard something in the bushes. She turned to look, but saw nothing, and thought it was just an animal. But then she heard three bushes at once!

Before she could do any water bending, she was tied up to a tree with three fire nation soldiers around her. She tried to break free, but the ropes were too tight.

Just then she heard someone say, “This better be a good reason to get me off my mission to capture the Avatar.”

Ensnared By the Flames

‘Zuko, oh no. What does he want.’ “What do you want with me?”

“Oh no.” he mumbled, ‘last time she was on my ship, she almost made it sink!’ “I want to know where the Avatar is, water peasant.”

“I’m not telling you! You-you banished fire nation prince!” At this his hands turned into fists and they stared to go into flames. But he couldn’t hurt her, she was the only one he could capture and get the information for where the avatar is.

Then Zuko said, “Take her back to the ship!” The guards untied her, but kept her hands tied behind her back, then practically dragged her to his ship and threw her into a cell.

“You’ll never get away with this! Aang and Sokka will find you and get me out of here!” Katara yelled.

Meanwhile…

Sokka was still asleep when he said, “Mommy, no, Sokka Sleepy, just 5 more minutes.” Aang was laughing hysterically! Sokka, then asked, “What’s so funny Aang?”

“You just said, ‘Mommy, no, Sokka sleepy, just five more minutes.’”

“Did I really say that?” Then he stared to blush. “Hey where’s Katara?”

“I don’t know, she went looking for your boomerang and never came back.”

“How did she get… that’s not important, let’s go find my sister.” So they walked around for hours, but didn’t find anyone, or anything. Until they came to a clearing in the woods. There on a tree they saw scorch marks and rope on the bottom of a tree.

Zuko’s Ship

“Oh no. Fire nation, Zuko maybe.” Sokka mumbled.

“Wait, so you’re saying Katara got captured by the fire nation, and maybe even Zuko! How did they get her? Didn’t she fight back? Why would they want her?” Aang said looking at the scorch marks and the rope.

“I don’t know, she probably fought back, but since the sun was up, fire was more powerful than water, and they probably want her for her information about you, Aang.” Sokka said.

“So how about we go and try to find Zuko’s ship, then if she’s not there, we can come up with a plan to get into the fire nation and save her.” Aang told Sokka.

“How about coming up with a plan NOW?!” Sokka said.

“Okay, but at least we can wait until we’re on Appa.” Aang told Sokka.

Meanwhile…

It had been almost an hour since Katara had been put into her cell, and most of the time she was looking out the small window thinking of how to escape, from Zuko’s ship. Just then she heard someone coming down to the stairs, she was hoping it was food, she was starving.

“Prince Zuko would like you to come to dinner, and that’s an order.” Said a voice that was nice yet mean, at the same time.

“I’m not coming, not even if he was the last person on the world.”

“Okay, but the Prince won’t be happy.” The guard said. About 15 minutes later, Zuko came down and pulled her out of her cell, and brought her to a room with a large table with room to sit 12 people. She didn’t understand, ‘Why does he want me to eat dinner with him?’ Katara thought to herself.

The Dinner/ the Plan

As Zuko let go of Katara, he pulled out her chair for her. Katara looked at him weird, but sat down.

“What do you want Zuko? I already told you, I’m not telling you where Aang is.” Katara said sounding like a spoiled brat.

“That’s not what I want to know, I just wanted to have dinner with someone.” Zuko said as he sat down.

“Then why not your Uncle?!”

“Because he is too caught-up in a stupid game. And don’t talk to me like that.” Zuko said with some anger in his voice. By now the guards had left and Katara was thinking about getting up and running, but she couldn’t make up her mind. Because if she ran, she had the threat to being hurt, or maybe even killed, by Zuko. But if she got out of there, she could go and try to find Sokka and Aang. So she just sat there starring at her food.

“I didn’t put anything in it, if that’s what you’re wondering.” Zuko said in a calmer voice than before. Katara picked up her fork and started to pick up food, when she quickly put it down and ran for the door, she opened it up and ran up the stairs.

She looked behind her and didn’t see Zuko. So she kept on running until she was on the deck. She stopped for a second but kept on running, but she was stopped by Zuko! He threw two fire balls at her, but she didn’t see the second one. So she bended water onto the first one, but she still didn’t see the second one, because it was too low. She was just looking at Zuko, making sure he wouldn’t throw another fireball at her.

She all of the sudden felt a big stinging pain in her left leg; she was hit with the other fireball she didn’t see. The last thing she saw was Zuko walking over to her.

Meanwhile…

Now on Appa, Sokka and Aang are coming up with a plan.

“How about don’t fly right to the fire nation capital, we can fly around the back, then you can let me out and then I can walk to the fire nation capitol and I can say I have information about the Avatar, you, Aang, and then get myself put into a cell, and then I can get Katara out of there!” Sokka came up with that right off the top of his head, and he didn’t even realize what he was saying until after he said it.

“That just might work.” Aang told Sokka.

Getting into the fire nation

Aang set course for the fire nation. As they got closer, they started to smell smoke and see it, too. It was a blockade! Aang didn’t know what to do!

He looked at Sokka for the answer, but he was looking at Aang for the answer! Just then, out of nowhere a big fireball came right for them. Aang didn’t see it, but Appa sure did. He flew out of the way.

Aang wasn’t expecting it and almost fell off. Sokka, on the other hand, did fall off! Aang quickly turned around and Appa flew down and picked Sokka up while still in the air, touched the water and flew back up into the clouds.

“Thanks Aang,” Sokka said. “Now we have to get a plan to get around into the fire nation.”

“I have an idea; Katara has been teaching me some water bending, so I can start to bend some waves, so the fire navy ships won’t be able to aim!”

Then Sokka said,” But, wait, I’m not in that plan anywhere, how about I throw my boomerang at them!”

“Not a good idea.” Aang said in a certain way that made Sokka feel stupid.

So then the plan went into action. The waves rolled up really high, and the navy ships kept on firing, but none of the fireballs hit them! Well Sokka got so overly excited that he threw his boomerang at the ships. After Sokka threw his boomerang the person firing the fireballs saw it and threw a fireball at it and hit it! The fireball with the boomerang came right toward Sokka! Sokka ducked, and his boomerang fell off the fireball.

Sokka grabbed it, not expecting for it to be hot, and started to yell,” HOT, HOT, HOT, HOT, HOT!!!”

“I told you not to throw it,” Aang told Sokka, and Aang bended some water onto the boomerang and it cooled off making a “SSSSSHHHHHHHHH” sound. They had made it into the fire nation!

Meanwhile…

It had been about a week, since Katara was hit with the fireball, until she had finally woken up. “Well hello there, sunshine. So you finally woke up,” Katara heard a friendly voice say. She had opened her eyes only a little bit, but now she was starting to regain consciousness and she opened her eyes all the way and saw someone standing over her. But her vision was so blurred that she couldn’t see who it was.

“Who are you?!” Katara asked.

“Why, I’m the doctor! And you were unconscious for about a week! Do you feel any better?” The doctor was trying to help her feel better.

“I think I feel better. Where am I, anyway?”

“You’re on the ship of Prince Zuko. I think you are his prisoner, because he doesn’t know any other girls, other than his sister and the one in the fire nation.”

Just then they heard the door swing wide open. And guess who was standing in the doorway, Zuko. He walked over to Katara’s bed side and sat down on the bed next to her.

Knife

“I came to tell you I was sorry, I’m not getting soft or anything, it’s just my uncle told me to come and apologize to you. I’m not happy about it!” Zuko Mumbled, but not directly to Katara.

“Well I don’t need your apology.” Katara said in a very bratty voice, “You coming in here is apology enough.”

“I don’t understand.”

“You coming in here, for any reason, other than to ask me where Aang is, is apology enough.” Now Zuko understood. But he was still kind of weirded out because he kind of thought that she was starting to kind of like him, which, to tell you the truth, she kind of was.

But after whispering something to the doctor, Zuko left. The doctor then said, “We are on shore, you are instructed to stay here, but I don’t think that will be very hard, because you hurt your leg pretty badly,” and with that, the doctor left, but without closing the door behind him.

Well, Zuko went to his room and the doctor went to the kitchen, and none of them knew that admiral Zhao was on shore, and he knew that Zuko was there too.

That night while everyone was asleep, admiral Zhao and a few of his soldiers went into Zuko’s ship and went looking around, not knowing for what. But Zhao happened to stumble upon the young waterbender.

He thought to himself, ‘she must be his girlfriend. Maybe if I kidnap her, he will tell me where the Avatar is.’

“HELP, HELP, HELP” was all Zuko heard. He knew it was the young waterbender. He quickly got up and ran to her room, but all he saw a pool of blood along with a blood trail.

As Zuko followed the trail of blood, it started to get thinner and thinner, until he got out onto the deck. And there was Katara, with a knife right next to her. Then out of nowhere a great big fire blast came right toward him. Zuko quickly turned around, it was Zhao.

“What do you want, and get off my ship!” Zuko yelled.

“What you’re not going to save her? That would be rude to let your girlfriend die like this.” Zhao said in an intimidating tone.

“She is NOT my girlfriend! She is my prisoner!” Zuko yelled enraged at the thought of Katara being his girlfriend. But Zuko fought Zhao anyway. Punch, punch, kick. Punch, punch, kick. This was the pattern that Zuko used to fight Zhao, who was caught off guard and fell over the side of the rail and off the ship. And all of his guards ran off Zuko’s ship and onto Zhao’s ship.

Zuko quickly walked over to Katara. He leaned down to see if she was still breathing, and if it was still regular, which it was. Then he looked up, and there were all of his guards and Iroh. Zuko picked the limp girl up in his muscular arms, and carried her over to her room, the infirmary.

Meanwhile…

It had been a few hours since they had gotten into the firenation, and they were getting tired. And they were getting tired of the smell of smoke. Appa was trying so hard just to keep from going down.

Finally, after another hour, they made it to the outer shore of the capital. They landed and reviewed the plan. Then Aang left Sokka to go and “save” Katara.

“Promise me you’ll come back and bust me out!” Sokka said to Aang.

“Don’t worry; I wouldn’t leave the mastermind to this whole plan behind.” Aang reassuringly told Sokka. “You don’t look like a person from the Firenation, you really should change.”

“Change into what?” Sokka asked confused. “I don’t have anything else to change into, especially not anything that doesn’t have anything to do with the colors blue or white, or that represents the Water Tribe. So, sorry but that plan is ruined.”

“Maybe not, go to the first store you see that sells clothing, and buy something with this.” Aang handed Sokka some Firenation money.

“How did you get this?”

“Monk Giatzo gave it to me when I was little. You know, as a collectable.” Aang said as he got back onto Appa. “Bye Sokka. Please save Katara, you’ll have twenty-four hours to get Katara, before I get you out of there.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll have her out of there in no time, I’ll meet you back here in this spot.” Sokka said.

“Good luck.” As Sokka was making his way into the capitol, he stopped in a shop and bought some Firenation cloths.

The person he was buying them from asked him, “Where did you get these Water Tribe cloths. We haven’t claimed either Water Tribe to be ours.”

Sokka was quick to answer. “My grandfather went to the Northern Water Tribe and he gave them to my father who gave them to me.”
