hmm, i think i'll jump right to the point.....
Wanbli stalked the forest, tracking by the light of a full moon. She worked for the good of the people of the towns and villages of every nation, traveling and offering assistance. At this particular town, tales were told of a beast that stalked the woods of full moon nights. It terrorized them, no one could go out without fear of bieng attacked, and no one had survived an encounter so far. She accepted the challenge, she had had it too easy of late.
There, tracks, like large wolf prints, standing out on a new blanket of snow. She followed, endlessly. She knew where they would lead. The tracks all led to a clearing in the forest, where at the edge a small ledge overlooked a cave. That much she had been able to get out of the local tracker. Not much underbrush was around but she settled in behind some that was there and pulled out her bow, readying it and two arrows. That would be all she had time for before she drew her knife, more like a short sword, that hung at her side. She had left her asandari at the inn. silently she sat in the still night waiting for the beast to return.
ok, i decided to be evil, i'll give you more later.

Wanbli started as she heard a stick crack. she had started to doze off, she had been out of practice for too long, where had it come from. She looked around silently, nothing was in the clearing. Morning was coming soon, she could already see the sun lightening the horizon. Another stick cracked and she froze. It had come from behind. She felt it's eyes on her back and the hackles rose on her neck. She was bieng stalked. Softly she drew the dagger, the metal rang slightly on the sheath, a clear, pure note. Slowly she turned and searched for her hunter. There, a slight movement, she picked out it's shadow against the snow. Her eyes trailed it to the body. It looked like a large wolf, a timber wolf to be exact, but different. No thought shone in it's hunter's eyes as it continued to creep closer. Two paces away it paused and gathered itself. Without warning it was leaping toward her, and she reacted. She jumped to the side and her dagger came up. The beast whistled through the air where she had been moments ago, and her dagger grazed it's side. Not good enough, It didn't even act hurt as it landed and whirled back on her, and this time she could not dodge. As she was buried under the huge weight of the beast she was slammed to the ground and all the breath left her. Teeth sunk into her shoulder, needle sharp pains ripping ito her flesh and she screamed. No, this couldn't happen, she thought and determinedly drove the dagger up. Not a killing blow, but it got the beast off her. She knew that her only chande was to stay close, to not run, to tire it out. She jumped on it's back plunging the dagger in as she locked her legs around it. It seemed not to affect it. It reared, trying to shake her off, plunging violently. Blood slipped down from her shoulder, wetting her hands and the fur, her grip began to slip a little. The bloodloss weakened her. Suddenly the beast gave an even more violent jerk breaking the grip of her hands and rolled over on top of her. Her breath was blasted out a second time as her lungs collapsed under the pressure. She felt a rib snap and stars filled her vision. She lay there, still trying to regain her breath vainly. she didn't realise the beast was gone, and it seemed to get darker even as the sun rose. Her rib throbbed and her whole shoulder was numb, but she didn't care, slipping deeper into unconsiousness......
Ok, enough for now, more later.

Voices, she heard voices. Wanbli struggled to break out of the darkness. Finally she could make out what they were saying. "Is she coming round?" asked a male voice "Yes, I think she's finally going to wake up." Said a relived female voice. "Come on Wanbli, wake up." Said a higher pitched voice, she knew that voice. "Erina?" She asked confused as she opened her eyes to see a thatch roof above her and the face of the worried sprite. She glanced around. Two other humans occupied the room, one was the tracker, a gruff man with a ragged beard, and the other was the village wisdom, the person who cared for headaches or any hurts the villagers got. She started to sit up but stopped as she felt a twinge of pain from her broken rib. Ok, that might not be shuch a good Idea, she thought and leaned back on the pillow again. "Don't try to get up." Erina said. "Yeah well, a little late to warn me pipsqueak." Wanbli said sarcastically. "How long was I out?" "This is your second day, I say second because it is evening." Erina answered with a sniff at Wanbli's rudeness. "Would you like something to eat?" The village wisdom called. Wanbli looked up again and noticed the trapper had left. "Yes, please, that would be nice." She replied politely. The woman came over carrying a bowl of soup. Once Wanbli realized that she meant to hand feed her, she started to protest. The wisdom's voice cut through it all, "Would you rather sit up to feed yourself?" Wanbli grimaced remembering to twinge froim earlier. She shook her head, "No." She acceded miserably and crossed her arms stubbornly and felt another twinge of pain from her shoulder where she had been bitten. she grimaced but kept her arms stubbornly crossed through the entire embarassing meal. She was only glad no one walked in to see her like that. The wisdom cleaned up and made a pot of tea. It looked like tea anyways. "You need more rest." she told Wanbli as she poured a cup. "No, I most certainly do not. Two days of sleeping is enough for me." Wanbli replied "Fine." said the wisdom bringing the cup over. "Tea?" she asked politely. Wanbli nodded, hot, calming tea was just what she needed right now. It was strangely bitter tea, and it was not until she had dunk it all that Wanbli realized why. "You drugged it!" Wanbli protested as sleep began to wrap around her again. The wisdom nodded. " You will heal faster with more rest." she said matter of factly. Wanbli began tyo protest again as darkness wrapped around her urging her to relax. "What good are you you airhead when you didn't stop her." Wanbli mumbled before surrenduring to the darkness, letting it carry her away to her dreams.
up next is a flashback in the form of a dream, but this is all for now.

(It's a flashback, about her birth family and maybe a few other things...)
"Mommy, where are we going?" A five year old Wanbli asked "To the air temple dear." Estelle paitently told her daughter "Why?" She asked with the curiosity of any young child "Because," Her mother said in that same patient tone, "The monks have discovered the new avatar, and we were chosen to represent the earth nation at the temple." "Why?" Wanbli asked again "Because, my dear," Estelle said with a sly smile, "A certain little girl asks too many questions." Before she had finished she began tickling Wanbli, and they both began to laugh as they rolled across the back of the flying bison that had come to pick them up.

When they finally reached the temple Wanbli helped her mother with their bags, feeling grown-up and carrying hers all by herself. The rooms the had been given were different than she was used to, bieng from the earth nation and all, that was all she had seen for most of her life. In truth, she missed her friends and old life, but she refused to mope, She wanted to put a good face on everything. Besides, mommy said she would make friends soon.
Yes, yes it's short, I'm sorry, but I need time to get back in the storywriting groove.
